Applegarth Health and Safety
Fixed-fee fire risk and health & safety assessments for churches, charities, schools and care homes
About
Applegarth Health and Safety is an independent consultancy run by Jeremy Applegarth, a NEBOSH Diploma-qualified health and safety practitioner with over 20 years’ experience and ISO 45001 auditor credentials.
We work with churches and places of worship, charities, schools, care homes and small businesses across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Huntingdonshire, London and Essex — organisations that need to meet their legal duties without a compliance department to do it for them.
Services include fire risk assessments under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, general risk assessments, combined assessment packages, and ongoing EHS consultancy support. Church fire risk assessments are a particular specialism: historic fabric, candles and open flame, heating systems, volunteer stewarding, and escape routes in buildings never designed around them.
Fees are fixed and agreed before the visit — from £295 for a risk assessment, £495 for a fire risk assessment, or £650 for both together at a small premises. No hourly rates, no retainers and no surprises on the invoice. Every assessment is followed by a written report within seven days, suitable for insurers, fire authorities, CQC and Ofsted.
You deal directly with the consultant who does the work, not a call centre.
