The Scottish Centre For Personal Safety
About
The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety is a Scottish charity founded by Volunteer Manager, Alan Bell, in 1997. Formerly known as ‘Security And Safety’, the organization has since grown and rebranded to emphasize its not-for-profit nature. The Centre is dedicated to empowering vulnerable individuals and preventing violence and the fear of violence in Scotland.
They offer a wide range of services, including personal safety courses for various demographics such as children, the elderly, women, ethnic minority women, pupils, students, and the blind and visually impaired. Additionally, they provide personal safety advice and courses for the workplace.
In addition to their training services, the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety runs Krav Maga self-defense classes every Thursday evening and offers hall rentals to community groups. They also have strong links with various agencies and can assist with issues such as domestic abuse, child safety, school bullying, and workplace harassment.
The ultimate goal of the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety is to empower individuals, raise awareness about personal safety, and decrease the fear of crime within Scottish communities.
